Boy Scouts donation

Rotary granted a request for $200 from the Boy Scouts of America. It costs $187 to put one child through the program, Rotarian Dan Hunt said.

Band Boosters project

Grant awarded — Rotary International has approved Blair Rotary's application for a $1,500 matching grant. The money will be used to purchase three new sets of cymbals for the Blair High School band program. The club will contribute $1,000.

• Sid Dillon Test Drive — Jim Nelson is setting up a Chevrolet test drive program to benefit the band. For each customer who test drives a Chevrolet from Aug. 8 to Aug. 20, Chevrolet will donate to the band program.

Instrument collection date set — Rotary and the Blair Band Boosters will sponsor an instrument collection drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 in the atrium at Blair High School.

A few Rotarians are needed to volunteer.

The club will publicize the collection drive in advance to encourage the public to dust off their unused instruments. Donors will receive a tax credit slip.

Fundraiser — A dinner and concert will cap the project on Saturday, Oct. 8 at South Creek Conference Center. It will include dinner, music by the Superband (Jim Nelson's band that played at the fundraiser earlier this year) and a silent auction.
