Chris Boswell named Rotary president

Blair Rotary President Terry Dutton, left, hands the gavel to new president Chris Boswell at the July 14 club assembly and officer installation.

President Chris said his goals are to tackle more hands-on projects; continue a successful February fundraiser; and for every club member to donate $100 to the Rotary Foundation. He pointed out that members have the option to pay $10 per month and can pay online.

Other officers include:
• Treasurer, Denise Dein
• Past president, Terry Dutton
• Director of community service, Terry Dutton
• Secretary, Dave Ladwig
• Director of membership, Jim Nelson
• Club Foundation chairman, Blake Dillon

Congrats to the new officers!

Looking for a few good Rotarians
Director of Membership Jim Nelson is seeking prospects for club membership. Submit names of individuals or businesses to Jim, or bring them to the next meeting July 21. President Chris' goal is to have 35 members by July 2016. Membership is currently at 31.

Fundraiser plans underway
Eighteen tables have committed to the Feb. 6 fundraiser at South Creek Conference Center, Jim Nelson said. The max will probably be 50 tables of eight people. Ideally, about half of the tables should be sold by this fall, and then Rotary can begin advertising the event. About 315 tickets were sold for the 2015 fundraiser.

This year's fundraiser will feature two bands — Jim's band and Fever and the Funkhouse — instead of the dueling piano show. Volunteers will be needed for the silent auction. The event is still without a theme, so if you have any ideas, let Jim know!
